Privacy Policy for Tilou

How Tilou handles your information — in plain, honest language.

App: Tilou (Puzzle Game) Last updated: July 26, 2026

Overview

Tilou ("the app", "we", "us") is a story puzzle game published by YFB Media. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have.

The short version: Tilou has no user accounts, no ads, and no in-app purchases. We never ask for — and never collect — your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or payment information. The only data the app handles is anonymous: your game progress so it can be saved and restored, and simple anonymous usage statistics so we can improve the game.

Information We Collect

The app automatically handles the following, none of which identifies you personally:

  • An anonymous identifier created by Google Firebase when you first open the app. It is a random ID, not linked to your name, email, or any personal detail. It exists only so your game progress can be saved for your installation.
  • Game progress data — completed chapters and puzzles, coins, hints, settings, and in-progress puzzle layouts.
  • Anonymous usage statistics — simple gameplay events.
  • Anonymous error diagnostics — technical error messages if something goes wrong in the app.

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, photos, precise location, payment details, or any user-entered personal content. The app contains no chat, no text input, and no social features.

Anonymous Game Progress and Cloud Save

To let you continue your game after reinstalling or on another device, the app stores your game progress using Google Firebase Anonymous Authentication and Cloud Firestore. This progress is tied only to the random anonymous identifier described above. It cannot be used to identify you as a person.

Anonymous Analytics

Starting with version 1.3.0, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played, so we can improve it. The events are simple and non-personal — for example: the app was opened, a story was opened, a chapter was started, a puzzle was completed, a daily challenge was started or completed, a hint was used, the player ran out of hints, the shop was opened, or a story was completed.

These events include only non-personal details such as which story or chapter number was played and how many hints remain. Analytics uses a random app-instance identifier provided by Google Analytics. We do not send the anonymous save identifier to analytics, and analytics data is not linked to any personal identity.

Error Diagnostics

If the app encounters a technical error, a short technical error message may be recorded as an anonymous diagnostic event. These messages describe the technical failure only and never contain personal information or user-entered content.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above solely to:

  1. Save and restore game progress.
  2. Understand aggregate gameplay patterns to improve the game.
  3. Detect and fix technical problems.

We do not use any data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or tracking across other apps or websites.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share data with third parties for their own purposes. Data is processed on our behalf by Google Firebase and Google Analytics as our infrastructure and analytics service provider, under Google's own privacy and security commitments. No other parties receive the data.

Advertising

Tilou currently contains no advertising and no advertising SDKs. Analytics is used for measurement only and is not used for advertising personalization.

Children

Tilou is a family-friendly puzzle game suitable for all ages. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts, and no social features.

Data Retention and Deletion Requests

Game progress is kept so players can continue playing. If a player stops using the app, the data remains associated with an anonymous identifier that is not linked to a person.

Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for a limited period and then deleted automatically.

Users may request deletion of data at any time by contacting us at info@yfbmedia.com. Because the data is anonymous, we may ask for basic technical details such as device type and approximate install date to help locate the relevant anonymous record. Uninstalling the app also removes locally stored progress from the device, and reinstalling generates fresh anonymous identifiers.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and stored on Google's secured infrastructure. Access is restricted to what is required to operate the app.
